How to Enjoy your Pre Wedding Week
Preparing for your destination wedding? The days leading up are to be enjoyed, here`s how you make sure that happens…
First things first
Try to arrive before your guests to settle in peacefully
This week is like base camp, you will need a space for the wedding operation, whether in a hotel or villa, create a dedicated space to keep all your wedding things together.
It's all about saving as much time on the boring stuff so you can really enjoy this time with your friends and family.
Let your guests know exactly who they should contact for what so you don`t have constant requests and questions, people love to be involved & help, delegate and then follow through!
Carriages
There will be a lot of running around so a hire car, even one amongst the family group will save the day. Car hire can be delivered to you so if you want to arrive in style with a driver from the airport, your hire car can be waiting for you at your accommodation.
Supplies
For couples in private villas you can have your groceries delivered and drinks stocked up to save you time and boredom at the supermarket on your first day, what a bummer.
Stay hydrated
Mallorca has a wonderful initiative Cleanwave Foundation with water fountains for refillable bottles all over the place. Bring your reusable bottle on this trip, you are going to need it at all times, with all the sun and busy days of preparations and pampering. Include plenty of big wwater bottles on your grocery trip as the water here is drinkable but perhaps not to everyone`s taste.
Come prepared, bring the things you have at home
The things that take up little space in your luggage but will save you time on trips to the shops, here are my suggestions:
Sellotape
Scissors
Sewing kit
First aid kit for all eventualities
Your favourite tea bags
Pens
Paper (even better - note cards)
Your favourite toiletries
Plan your final supplier meetings in one day, at the venue
Stagger the meeting times to coordinate with the venue walkthrough. Allow enough time to run through with each supplier, in the space so you can imagine it together and iron out and small last details
Reserve time for you and for you both
Your guests are excited to see you but define `free time` for everyone to go and do their own thing, recharge with some alone time and very importantly, stay connected as a couple. There are so many beautiful spots to have dinner, watch a sunset, climb a mountain or pass an hour at a beach bar. A sound bath session or joint massage will bring you right back to now and remind you of why you`re here, so make sure you schedule it in.
Full service is better than some service
If you`re planning on a pre or post wedding gathering, pay a little extra to your planner so they can take care of it for you. At this point in the proceedings your only task should be to turn up in your fabulous glow and have the time of your life.
Remember, there`s nothing that can`t be solved and so many moments to cherish, so enjoy every second.
