A Guide to Destination Wedding Ceremonies in Spain
The most important part of any wedding and the part everyone came to see is the ceremony. But which type, where, how and is it legal?! Here is everything you need to know about planning your destination ceremony in Spain.
The best and most sensible advice is to legally marry in the country where you reside. In fact, unless you are Catholic, Jewish or have been a Spanish resident for 2 or more years you cannot legally marry in Spain.
Catholic marriages and some Jewish marriages are the only legally recognized marriages for non-Spanish residents. There are many beautiful churches in Mallorca and to hold your wedding ceremony inside one you will need to pursue the Catholic marriage route. There are a couple of stunning old church sites that can be used for non religious ceremonies on the island so if this is the aesthetic you`re looking for, all hope is not lost.
With many years of experience with Catholic ceremonies in Mallorca, we can guide you through how this works and how to prepare your paperwork correctly with our ceremony coordination service.
If none of the above applies to you then you will most likely be looking for a celebrant to conduct a symbolic ceremony in front of your special guests during your destination wedding celebration.
There are many reasons why a celebrant wedding is a blessing more than you realise. Celebrants design the ceremony based on your ideas, your personalities, beliefs and cultural backgrounds. Together you create a declaration of your union in your own words, how, where and for as long as you wish. All the options are open to you so you can involve family and friends and include rituals or special readings that have a specific meaning to you.
During your first consultation we discuss all the options to find out what's really in your heart and get to the bottom of how you really wish to conduct your blessing.
